In Butte, Montana, Redline Sports exemplifies family dedication and personalized customer service in the powersports industry. What started as a modest Honda dealership has grown into a multi-brand powerhouse, offering Honda, Polaris, KTM, and recently added Bobcat products.
The dealership’s story is deeply rooted in family. Mike Czehura, the current owner, represents the second generation to lead the business. “My grandpa, aunt and uncle invested money to buy the business initially,” Czehura explains. The business then passed through the family, with Mike’s aunt and mother running it for about 10 years from 2007 to 2017.
Czehura took charge in 2017, gradually assuming full control. “I moved back and started getting my feet wet and taking over in 2017,” he recalls. “By 2020, I bought the business, and now I’m the sole owner.” Despite the change in leadership, the family’s involvement continues, with Mike’s mother still managing the books.
Under Czehura’s guidance, Redline Sports has seen significant growth. In 2019, the dealership moved to a larger facility with more space and a bigger parking lot. They further expanded in 2021, adding a whole new shop to the back of the building, now boasting nearly five service bays.
What sets Redline Sports apart in an increasingly corporate landscape is their commitment to personalized service. “A lot of the surrounding dealerships were starting to get bought out by car dealerships,” Czehura notes. “We try to give the best service and at least make you feel good about telling your friends to come buy from us.”
This approach has fostered a loyal customer base. “We have people that just stop to visit and kill time,” Czehura says proudly. It’s this balance of salesmanship and genuine customer care that keeps people coming back in a small town where “everybody knows a lot of people.”
While Redline Sports has received accolades in the past, including making the “Top 100 Dealers” list years ago, Czehura focuses more on customer satisfaction than industry awards. The dealership has also been involved in community initiatives, such as youth rides during Evil Knievel Days which allowed kids to learn how to ride motorbikes. Redline sports also sponsor local club fun runs and competitive racers.
One of the dealership’s biggest assets is its proximity to the Pipestone trail system, boasting an impressive 500 miles of trails just 15 minutes from the shop. “We’re pretty fortunate,” Czehura acknowledges, noting how this extensive trail network has been a boon for business and the local riding community.
As Redline Sports moves forward, it faces challenges common to many in the industry, such as staffing and inventory management. However, with its strong family foundation and commitment to personalized service, this Butte, Montana powersports destination is well-positioned to continue its success for years to come.
The dealership continues to adapt and grow, with a team that includes enthusiasts like Matt, the General Manager who actively motocross races, maintaining a strong connection to the riding community it serves.
