Broward Motorsports Treasure Coast – A Powerhouse in Florida’s Powersports Industry

Broward Motorsports, led by Sam Nehme, has grown into a six-store Florida powerhouse. At the Treasure Coast location, GM Douglas Berger combines decades of experience with innovative marketing, community involvement, and the successful VIP Maintenance program. Offering 20+ top brands, the dealership thrives on passion, service, and customer-focused growth.

The Broward Motorsports Legacy

Broward Motorsports, a name synonymous with excellence in Florida’s powersports scene, has a rich history rooted in passion and entrepreneurial spirit. The company’s success story begins with owner Sam Nehme, who started working in the industry as a young teenager. While still only in his twenties, Nehme’s tenacity and passion led him to acquire his first dealership. Over the past 22 years, Nehme has expanded Broward Motorsports to an impressive network of six stores across Florida, with the most recent addition of the Miami location marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth.

Douglas Berger: A Seasoned Leader

At the helm of the Treasure Coast store is General Manager Douglas Berger, a seasoned veteran with decades of experience in the powersports industry. Douglas’s journey with Broward Motorsports began more than a decade ago as an account executive with a national 3rd party administrator in the powersports industry RpmOne. Bringing with him a wealth of knowledge from his varied career, including multiple roles in dealer development with companies like RpmOne, working with dealers across America and then establishing his own consultant agency. The focus was dealer development by helping dealers and dealer groups to increase efficiency and margins through the Sales and Finance Departments. A key ingredient is developing and customizing a specific product suite that fits the dynamics of each dealer to help maximize profits. Douglas has now worked directly for Broward Motorsports Group since early 2020 steering the Hobe Sound location as GM.

Treasure Coast Location: A Hub of Diversity

The Treasure Coast location has a unique history of its own. Initially established as an Indian motorcycle dealership in 2016, it has undergone significant expansion under Broward Motorsports’ ownership since 2018. Today, it boasts an impressive lineup of brands including Can-Am, Sea-Doo, Spyder, BMW, Honda, Indian, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki, Ducati, Slingshot, Segway Off-Road, CF Moto, Triumph, Taiga, Scarab, Golf Carts and now even Savannah Boats. This diverse portfolio caters to a wide range of enthusiasts, from motorcycle aficionados to off-road adventurers and water sports lovers.

Innovative Marketing and Customer Service

What set’s Broward Motorsports Treasure Coast apart is not just its extensive brand offerings, but also its innovative approach to customer service and marketing. Douglas and his team employ targeted Google ad campaigns, strong Social Media presence, and aligned manufacturer Co-op programs to target their customer base by brand, segment, geography, and demographics. This strategic approach has helped them break the 1000-unit sales mark last year for the first time, a testament to their market understanding, customer appeal and an overall buying experience.

Community Engagement

Community engagement is a cornerstone of Broward Motorsports’ philosophy. Douglas is actively involved in local chambers of commerce and local businesses sponsoring numerous events throughout the year. From participating in parades, events and legislative meetings to organizing rides and supporting charitable causes like Toys for Tots, Martin County PAL and the Boys and Girls Club, Broward Motorsports Treasure Coast is deeply integrated into the local community fabric.

VIP Maintenance: A Game Changing Program

One of Douglas’ most significant contributions has been the implementation of a powerful in-house prepaid maintenance program. This initiative, developed in collaboration with JJ, the director of operations for the Broward Group, has proven incredibly successful. With an average 30% plus penetration rate across all six stores averaging over 100 units per month per store, the program, dubbed “VIP Maintenance,” has significantly boosted the company’s backend performance, customer retention and overall customer satisfaction.

The Joy of Powersports

When asked about what he enjoys most about the powersports industry, Douglas’ enthusiasm is palpable. “For a job, it definitely could be worse. We get to sell motorcycles for a living. We don’t sit behind a desk all day. Most people are happy to come in, look, explore, drive and buy things to heighten their life’s experience. If you’re going to have a job, what could be better than working in the powersports industry? Plus, you have access to all the best toys in all the best pastimes.” “You Gotta Ride” is the Broward Motorsports Group Slogan, and we live it!

Celebrating Growth and Success

As Broward Motorsports Treasure Coast just celebrated its fourth anniversary under Douglas’ leadership, it stands as a shining example of what passion, experience, and innovative thinking can achieve in the powersports industry. With over 30 employees managing a huge array of brands, and impressive financial performance, the dealership is well-positioned for continued success in the vibrant Florida powersports market.
