A Family’s Journey: The Story of Polaris Can-Am Honda World in Mesquite

Polaris Can-Am Honda World in Mesquite, Nevada, is a thriving, family-owned dealership led by Tiffany and Josh Wilson and her parents, Ron and Linda Perry. Rooted in Ron’s decades-long powersports legacy, the business reflects generations of dedication, resilience, and customer care—values now being passed to a third generation.

Polaris Can-Am Honda World in Mesquite, Nevada, is a family-owned business co-owned by Tiffany Wilson, her husband Josh Wilson, and Tiffany’s parents, Ron and Linda Perry. The story of how the family became involved in the powersports industry and built their businesses spans decades, starting with Ron Perry’s first dealership in Salt Lake City and continuing to this day in Nevada.

Tiffany Wilson grew up in the powersports world, learning everything she knows about business from her father, Ron Perry. At just 16 years old, Ron had begun fixing motorcycles in a small garage. Later, after getting a $5,000 loan from his parents, he opened his shop and in 1971 Honda approached him wanting to put their units in his store. With Honda’s support, his small shop grew into a thriving business.
Tiffany was raised in the dealership, working alongside her father and absorbing the lessons that would shape her future. Ron’s dedication to his work and the family business set a high standard that Tiffany and her family continue to follow today.

In 2007, Ron called Tiffany with a big idea: to open a dealership in Hawaii. While Tiffany initially thought the idea was crazy, Ron told her that if she didn’t go, he would hire someone outside the family. Feeling she couldn’t let her father go through it alone, Tiffany and her husband Josh decided to take the leap and join Ron and Linda in opening a dealership in Maui.

The dealership had success in its early years, but tourism to Hawaii declined sharply when the recession hit, which had a major impact on the business. After careful consideration, the family made the difficult decision to sell the dealership and return to the mainland in 2009. Although the decision to sell was hard, it strengthened their resolve to continue their journey together as a family in the powersports industry.

After the sale of the Hawaiian dealership, the family turned their attention back to the mainland. In 2012, they bought a dealership in Mesquite, Nevada, initially starting with Polaris. They soon added Can-Am to the lineup, followed by Honda. Starting with a small building, they put in hard work and watched the business grow. “It was a lot of hard work,” Tiffany recalls, noting that in just a few years, they expanded exponentially and built a brand-new facility to meet growing demand.

For the Wilson and Perry families, the focus has always been on creating a business that not only succeeds but serves its community. Tiffany’s parents, Ron and Linda, taught her the value of hard work, customer care, and loyalty. Tiffany and Josh work closely with Ron and Linda to ensure the dealership’s operations align with the principles Ron instilled in them: always striving to exceed expectations and treating customers like family.
Ron’s long history in the business has shaped how they approach customer service. “If you don’t like what we do, then call our General Manager, and we will do whatever we can to fix it!” Ron says, emphasizing their commitment to ensuring every customer is satisfied. Whether it’s selling a $1.99 spark plug or a $25,000 vehicle, their goal is the same: provide the best possible service to everyone who walks through the door.

Looking to the future, Tiffany is proud of all that they’ve achieved as a family. Reflecting on the challenges and triumphs, she is excited for what’s ahead. Today, the dealership is thriving, thanks to the family’s dedication and teamwork. Tiffany’s daughter works there now, and Tiffany is taking the time to teach her the ropes, just as her dad did for her. She hopes that one day her daughter will take over the business and continue the family tradition of hard work and service.
